Note: This website is not an official Douglas County School website. It is provided by the Alexander Dugout Club. The Alexander Dugout Club is the booster club for all Alexander baseball interest.

Welcome to Alexander Cougar Baseball. The Cougar's are pleased to welcome new 2009 Head Coach Scott Edwards. Coach Edwards comes to Alexander from Villa Rica HS where he was also the Head Coach. Coach Edwards was an Asst. Coach at Alexander before leaving for the HC position at Villa Rica.
To date Coach Edwards has named the following Asst. Coaches for the 2009 season.
Chris Brown will join Coach Edwards in 2009 as asst. coaches. Coach Brown comes from Villa Rica where he was an asst. coach under Coach Edwards there as well.
Robert Toolan current Cougar asst. coach will return next season with Coach Edwards.
Mike Yates will be joining the staff as a new asst. coach coming from Chapel Hill.
Chuck Walker will be joining the staff as a new asst. coach. Coach Walker is an former Alexander player graduating in 1987.
Kent Quinn will be joining the staff as a new asst. coach. Coach Quinn is a community coach.

LATEST NEWS TUES 12/2/08:
All players remember conditioning started on Monday. Plans are for Monday-Thurs starting at 4:00pm. Come to the field after school. Everyone planning on trying out for baseball should be conditioning if at all possible.
Ea player needs to have the following:
Shorts-Sweats-Short and long sleeve shirts (hoodie)-running shoes-cap-warm head gear. Remember it will be cold on some days so be prepared.
As 2 on 1 starts with the coach you will also need you bat-glove.
We will have the concessions open for drinks once we get everything going as well.

All players must have a player physical on file before being allowed to try-out in Feb. I will get the correct form and list here in a week or so. ______________________________
For those who are interested in working at the Dome fundraiser project the training will start soon at the Dome.
These are the events being recruited at this time.

2009 Spring Fees-Grand Slam Field Ad Signs
The 2009 season fee has been set at $600.00 per player for the regular package and $800.00 for the deluxe package. Ea player is expected to raise the min amount of $600.00/$800.00 to cover the cost of the Alexander baseball program operations. The new fee for Field Ad signs for 2009 will be $325.00 for a new sign and $300.00 for a re-new sign. This amount will count towards your $600.00 fee.
The new Grand Slam Sponsor form is now located in the forms section.
To make it easier your sponsor can pay by credit card or check. If they decide to pay by they credit card they just need to click on this link. Be Sure to remind them to enter the sellers name on their on-line registration.

The Grand Slam Sponsor Board is located behind the visitor dugout. The sign will run from the beginning of the 2008 school yr until the beginning of the 2009 school yr. This will give max exposure to our sponsors for the Fall-Spring-Summer seasons.

The following players were selected to the Douglas County Sentinel "All County Baseball Squad". A BIG CONGRADULATIONS to Andy Waldrop being selected as the "PLAYER OF THE YEAR"
Out of 20 spots AHS had 11, well done guys!
